What is Dermol 500 Lotion?

Dermol 500 lotion is an antimicrobial emollient and moisturiser for the management of dry and pruritic (itchy) skin conditions, especially eczema and dermatitis, and for use as a soap substitute.

What are the 4 Active ingredients in Dermol 500 lotion and what do they do?

  • Benzalkonium and chlorhexidine: These are both antibacterial chemicals that will combat bacteria on the skin that can make eczema worse and that causes itching.

  • Liquid paraffin and isopropyl myristate:  These are both emollients that soften and moisturise the skin as well as forming a protective barrier that helps to reduce the effects of dry skin.

Key Points

  2. Antibacterial - Kills any bacteria on the skin

  3. Moisturiser - Keep skin hydrated

  4. Wont interfere with any other medications

  5. Easy to use
