Dulcolax 5mg Gastro-Resistant tablets provide short term relief of constipation when a stimulant laxative is required. Available in pack size 10, 20, 40, 60 and 100 tablets.
Dulcolax 5mg Gastro-resistant tablets provide predictable overnight relief of constipation when a stimulant laxative is required. If taken at night you should be able to go to the toilet normally in the morning with no nasty surprises and in the comfort of your own home.
A lack of fibre

In rare cases, constipation can be a symptom of a more serious condition.
Not suitable for anyone under 18 years
If laxatives are needed for more than five days in a row, or if symptoms persist, in particular if you have persistent abdominal pain or are passing blood, consult your doctor.
During pregnancy constipation can be common and many pregnant women look for constipation relief. However, you should always speak to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Dulcolax or any other medication during your pregnancy or while you’re breastfeeding.
You are allergic to any of the ingredients this medication contains
You are intolerant to some sugars, as this product contains small amounts of lactose and sucrose
You have severe dehydration
You have a blockage in the intestine, also known as ileus
You have a serious abdominal condition, e.g. appendicitis
You have severe abdominal pain, feel sick, and are being sick
You have a blocked bowel (intestinal obstruction)
You have inflammation of the bowel
You are taking any other medication
You take diuretics, also known as water tablets, e.g. bendrofluazide or furosemide
You take steroid medications, e.g. prednisolone
You take any other laxatives
You take antacids or proton pump inhibitors, which are used for acid reflux and heartburn
Active ingredients: Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 5 mg bisacodyl.
Other ingredients: lactose monohydrate, maize starch, sucrose, glycerol, magnesium stearate, talc, acacia, white beeswax, shellac, carnauba wax, titanium dioxide (E171), yellow iron oxide (E172), methacrylic acid-methyl methacrylate copolymer, castor oil, macrogol 6000.
Adults: Take one or two tablets daily before bedtime.
If you have not taken Dulcolax before, start with one tablet and increase to two if necessary.
Swallow tablets whole, with water.
Possible side effects:
abdominal discomfort, cramps, nausea, rectal burning, and feeling light-headed. Contact your GP immediately if any of these side effects worsen.
