What is Anusol Cream ?

 

Anusol Cream gives soothing relief from discomfort of external and internal piles (haemorrhoids), anal itching and fissures.

 

With its specially formulated combination of active ingredients, Anusol Cream can shrink piles, sooth itching and prevent bacterial growth which promotes healing. It soothes and protect raw areas, help reduce swelling, prevent bacterial growth and can promote healing. Anusol Cream is rapidly absorbed and has a vanishing base that avoids staining clothes.


 

What are the active inngredients in Anusol Cream?

 

Anusol cream contains three active ingredients which work together to treat piles.

  1. Zinc oxide, this works as an antiseptic which helps to reduce bacterial growth in the affected area and helps to reduce swelling.

  2. Balsam Peru, another mild antiseptic which helps to protect your sore areas.

  3. Bismuth oxide, an astringent and antiseptic which protects raw and irritated areas around your anus.


 

Anusol Cream can be used with suppositories to ease insertion and application.

 

Warnings and Precautions when using Anusol cream

  • Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

  • Not recommended for children.

  • If symptoms persist consult your doctor.

  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, only use this medicine on the advice of your doctor.

  • Read the enclosed leaflet carefully before using Anusol Cream.

 

Ingredients:

 

Active ingredients: Zinc oxide, Bismuth oxide, Balsam Peru.

Also contains: Glycerol monostearate, Liquid paraffin, Propylene glycol, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan stearate, Titanium dioxide (E171), Menthyl hydroxybenzoate, Propyl hydroxybenzoate and Water.


 

How do I use Anusol Cream?

 

For simple external haemorrhoids or itchiness around the bottom:

Apply morning, night and after each bowel movement.  The cream easily rubs in and can be applied to a clean dry area to provide relief.


 

If you are treating internal haemorrhoids:

Use morning, night and after each bowel movement but with the applicator nozzle.  The nozzle can be gently inserted into the rectum. Ensure the nozzle is cleaned well after use.  

What are the side effects of Anusol Cream?


 

Anusol cream, like other medications, may cause some unwanted side effects, although not everybody who uses this medication gets the side effects.


 

Here are some side effects and what to do if you have them:

Anusol cream rarely causes very serious allergic reactions. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience the following:

  • Rash

  • Severe dizziness

  • Itching

  • Trouble breathing

  • Swelling or itching of the face, tongue, or throat


 

Report to your doctor if you will experience any other side effects that are associated with your use of this product.


 

It is very rare that this medication may be absorbed into the bloodstream, which can lead to side effects of too much corticosteroids. The side effects are common in people and children who have been using this medicine for a long time.


 

Report to your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • Weight loss

  • A headache

  • Unusual or extreme tiredness

  • Vision problems

  • Swelling ankles or feet

  • Increased thirst or urination


 

Immediately report to your doctor if you experience these rare but very serious side effects - signs of serious infection.


 

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any serious side effects such as rectal bleeding, skin redness or tenderness, change in skin appearance, or any other signs infection.
